An old friend of mine, Arlee Smith, may he RIP, was an old country boy who had some very interesting sayings about certain things.
He owned a pay lake in Indiana right on the border of Ohio. A lot of wildlife passed through all the time, which kept things interesting. A few years ago a couple of cranes started hanging out there, and to my knowledge they’re still there. One day my dad was walking around the lakes with Arlee, and my dad looked up to see one of the cranes flying in V formation with some ducks.
Dad: Look at that crane!
Arlee: Cranes need friends, too.
