Unpopular Opinion: Redheads

There’s this popular belief nowadays that redheads, or gingers, have attitudes that derive completely from the color of their hair. And I think it’s a ton of shit.

I know, it’s been a thing for a long time. But like the fact that they’re called “gingers,” I think within the last couple years, it has turned into a huge thing. I’ve known redheads my entire life and only in the last couple years have I heard of them being called gingers.

It used to be that a child with red hair was given a bad wrap sheet just because they had red hair. “Well you know, he’s that way because he’s a redhead!” “Ah yes! Haha!”

“Oh, your newborn baby has red hair! Watch out!” “Ah yes! Haha!”

But over the last few years, I’ve seen on Facebook and Twitter tons of posts and meme’s that all talk about “I’m a bitch because of my red hair!” or “I’m a ginger, so that means I’m a bitch! You better watch out!”

Hardly. Get over yourselves.

These people are turning this myth into something they’re proud of. I’ve never been one to believe being a bitch or an asshole was a good thing. There’s a reason you call someone one of those if you dislike them. Because it’s a bad thing. To be proud of that just proves you’re an idiot too.

There’s a difference between being real and being a bitch/asshole. People have called me an asshole most of my life, but typically I’m just real, and people don’t like to hear real talk. So they call you an asshole for being real. I’m not proud to be called an asshole. I try not to be an asshole, because as I said, I don’t think it’s a good thing.

Not true. Stop with the bullshit.

Redheads use this as almost a crutch. “Well you know, I can’t help my attitude. I was born with red hair.” No, everybody can control how they act. Have some self respect.

If it’s not a crutch it’s a badge of honor. Being proud for being born with something you had no control over. Like being proud of your skin color. Hey, that’s great if you’re proud to be black, or Indian, or even white. But you had no say in the matter, so how can you be proud of something you came by as a stroke of luck?

Okay. You’re full of shit.

Considering the meme above, that’s bullshit. I’ve met many people in my life who would argue if one word sounded wrong to them. Usually those people didn’t understand sarcasm, or they were just idiots. None of the ones I’ve met that were like this had red hair. As a matter of fact, all of the people I’ve met with red hair were highly intelligent people. Except for one, she was a bitch, but that had nothing to do with her hair. She was also extremely hot, and that had something to do with her hair.

I’ve known many redheads in my life, and all of them have been fantastic people. I’ve also known tons of other hair colored people, and some of them have been complete assholes. Why? Because hair color doesn’t mean shit when it comes to attitude. I’ve heard kids being in their “terrible two’s” and I’ve never heard it asterisked with “because they have red hair.” No, because two year olds, no matter their hair color, are little assholes.

So please stop with the bullshit. If you have red hair, be thankful you were born with beautiful hair and leave it at that. Red heads are beautiful people. Assholes and bitches are not.

Um, I am proud to be a bitch, because nice girls get way too close to being doormats and that is not the life for me. I married an asshole because bitches are the ones who can take an asshole on and assholes are the ones who can handle bitches. We’re proud, indeed.
My hair is red in the sun. Of course, after a long enough time, my skin is also red in the sun. Neither of these things can be controlled and neither make me proud.
The reason we hear ginger so much is because of the internet. Redheads have been gingers in England for centuries.

You’re not a bitch. You’re real. Just like the Mister. That’s why you two get along. Real sticks by real. You and I wouldn’t get along if you were a bitch. Just cause you don’t put up with anybody’s shit doesn’t mean you’re a bitch lol. You’re just real. It’s a good thing.
