Southern Recipe Small Batch Pork Rinds Review

I just discovered these at a little country store down the street from where I live. Since I was in the market for some chips and I do love me some Chicharrones, I decided to take a pick from four flavors they had and give them a try. Here are the ones I got.

Wife: Those are Kimchi, that means they’re hot.

I couldn’t wait to get home and try them out. Finally when I did, I popped open the bag, gave it a good sniff, decided it smelled hot, and dove in.

The flavor was outstanding. And the heat didn’t show up until after half the bag was gone. Up until then there was a tiny bit of heat, like it wanted to try and be hot but just couldn’t. It was there, but it wasn’t hot. And then after the first half was gone, it started warming up and by the end of the bag my mouth was on fire. But not a bad fire, I actually quite enjoyed it.

Now I’m mad I don’t have any more to eat. It was just a small bag. But rest assured, I’ll be getting the other three flavors and trying them out, too. I can’t remember which ones they had, I think a dill pickle flavor and a sea salt black pepper flavor and some other flavor. I think there are a couple other flavors, too, if I saw it right on their official website.

I also liked that they were fried in sunflower oil. It made a small difference in how they crunch and taste. Overall, I think these are worthy chips, and more importantly, worthy Chicharrones. I can’t wait to try the other flavors, and I strongly suggest you give them a try as well.
